Free Route Airspace Implementation - SECSI FRA

Free Route Airspace Implementation - SECSI FRA

Today RocketRoute has released the new implementation of SECSI FRA (South East Common Sky Initiative Cross Border Free Route Airspace) with AIRAC 2/18

SECSI FRA is a specified airspace within which airspace users may freely plan a route between published entry and exit points using the most direct route, with a possibility of being routed via intermediate waypoints, without reference to the ATS route network. Within this airspace, flights remain subject to air traffic services.

Also, this will offer operators shorter route options and CO2 and NOx emission savings or any other cost considerations.

The SECSI FRA area of application will be available H24 and will not be constrained by FIR or State boundaries. SECSI FRA area will consist of the following parts of airspaces:

  • SAXFRA from GND to FL 660
  • SEAFRA from FL 205 to FL 660

FLIGHT PLANNING

All traffic shall comply with:

  • the aircraft equipment requirements
  • General Rules and Procedures of the respective state
  • Current RAD

For exemptions for State aircraft refer to the respective State AIP.

Within SECSI FRA airspace volume users will be able to plan user-preferred trajectories through the defined SECSI FRA airspace under conditions of structurally and capacity-determined limitations by using FRA relevant points and LAT/LONG.

RocketRoute is keeping up with all the changes and has already implemented this in our FlightPlan system. Just add departure and destination to see the new routes.

As well RocketRoute created the SECSI FRA Chart, which comprises the Free Route Airspaces of Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. The interactive chart contains essential information for customers related to FRA relevant points (Entry/E, Exit/X, Intermediate/I, Arrival/A, and Departure/D), lateral and vertical limits of SECSI FRA, the prohibited, restricted and dangerous areas within SECSI FRA and the Lowest Available Levels (LAL) where established.
