Introduction
When Flight Planning you will often want to avoid particular regions, countries or Significant Weather systems. Built into RocketRoute's AutoRouter is a handy feature to route "VIA" one or two waypoints.
This article provides guidance how to obtain and use the VIA function. This is available to all Members with access to the AutoRoute feature.
Step 1 Create a Route
Let's create a route from Paris (LFPB) to Dubai (OMDB). AutoRouter will give you the route that gives an opportunity to fly over Iran. Nowadays, many people want to avoid flying over Syria , Iran and Iraq because of unstable situation in these countries. Use great Via function offered by RocketRoute and have a safe flight.
Step 2 Turn on Waypoints and FIRs
The next step you have to do is to turn on Waypoints and FIRs in your account. Click the menu Settings on the right and press the ON button beside the fields you need.
Step 3 Find the Alternative Waypoint
Now when all waypoints are visible, you can choose the one you like more. Just zoom in the map and find a waypoint (NOTE: Please choose waypoints near the big cities).
In our special case we can fly over Egypt. Let's take the waypoint called CVO in Egypt.
Step 4 Put the Optional Waypoint
Please click on the Advanced menu on the same page. You will see the area where the name of optional waypoint can be entered.
Then press AutoRoute again.
Step 5 Get a New Flight Plan
Below you can find the new flight plan with AutoRouter includes point CVO into the route.created by RocketRoute.
