RocketRoute has introduced the ability to view routes to alternate airports on the map, in addition to the main route.
The recent update of Android app provides a 3-times performance speed-up and ability to calculate a full route to an alternate.
Prior to creating a route, make sure that full routing to the alternates is activated.
Go to More - Account and Settings - Flight Log - Full routing to Alternates. Click Save button and proceed to the flightplanning.
After autorouting or recalculating, RocketRoute FlightPlan will display a route line between the airport of destination (ADES) and any alternate airports (ALT).
If a departure alternate airport (ALT) has been selected, the route will be drawn from the airport of departure (ADEP) to the departure ALT. If a destination alternate airport (ADES ALT), a blue route line will be drawn on the map. Thus in some cases the map may show 3 blue lines, one from ADEP and two from ADES.
In case any additional alternates are added to the flight, they will be marked with blue dotted lines.
It is now possible to add 2 alternates to a flight along with a flight level to an alternate and a STAR. Route to an alternate will be generated by the Autorouter, when the main route is being generated.
To create a flight with alternates:
Image 1: Insert an alternate airport, flight level and a STAR (optionally), press APPLY.
Image 2: Routes to the selected alternates on Map.
