Flight planners can now view enhanced information regarding previously filed routes between airport pairs. This new capability works globally, however is especially useful when flight planning in the USA where there is no formal ‘pre-validation’ system, similar to the Eurocontrol process. This feature is particularly helpful when there is a need to understand whether a returned route has been flown previously.
Therefore, an accepted method of filing is to analyse routes that have been previously filed/cleared, as this is a very good indicator of whether a newly filed plan will be accepted by ATC.
This feature searches for previously filed routes during the previous 180 days. If applicable routes have been found, a message will be appended to the route option.
