A fast, innovative and convenient way of creation of the custom avoid areas is available in RocketRoute.
Why to use this feature?
Many business operators will find it useful as it helps to define the operational footprint for an operator, related to their Insurance Agreement. It will help to mark the areas of the world that cannot be flown in, e.g. polar areas, specified by an Insurer.
The other reason to use this function is to avoid an irregular piece of territory such as the Sinai peninsula. Read further to learn how to create a customer avoid area.
How to use this feature?
To set the custom avoid areas go to MORE - DATA, select Custom Areas, click Add New.
In the expanded menu add a label for the area and start clicking on the map to designate the boundaries of an area to be omitted.
Also you may specify the minimum and maximum flight levels for the avoidance area. The label and specified flight levels will be depicted on the shadowed area.
After you have designated the area please press the Save button.
Next step: Prepare a flight plan
After you have specified an area to be avoided and saved it in the Data section, it will be stored in your account.
To make the system to use the avoid area, press New flight, put the initial data of the flight, click the 'Autoroute Settings' section to open it. Here write the names of the avoid areas you've used while saving the data. Press Autoroute.
For your convenience and for better visibility you can turn on the Custom areas to be shown on the map. To do so click Settings on the right hand side menu bar. Select 'Custom Areas'.
The Autorouter will prepare route options avoiding all of the specified territories.
On the picture below you can see two routes - the one that goes through restricted territories is a 'Initial route' and the other which avoids the restricted areas is a 'Corrected route'.
The corrected route has been received from the Autorouter after specifying the areas that should have been avoided - Southern part of Ukraine, Sinai peninsula, Syria, Israel and Iraq.
We will be glad to answer any of your questions regarding the custom avoid areas, should you have any. Please, email us at support@rocketroute.com.
