HowTo: Quickly Create a Draft Flight Plan

Written by Valentyna | Apr 6, 2020 1:00:47 PM

Here's a short instruction on how to create a draft flight plan to a place that you think might be the right answer to our Easter Hunt Quiz.

Read how it's done or watch a short video:

  • Click New Flight.
  • Select the aircraft (the last used one will be pre-filled by default)
  • Write 'QUIZ' in the 'Flight No' field to easily distinguish the 'quiz flights' later.
  • Put in the airport of Departure (Name, ICAO or IATA code). It might be your home airport.
  • Put in the name of the place (answer to the riddle) into the 'Destination ADES' field. Select the one with the 5-symbol code.
  • Date and time can be changed, but it doesn't matter at all for our quiz.
  • The map will get updated with a DCT route after you've input the data. You might also click the 'Update Map' button to see the DCT route.
  • Press 'SAVE' in the bottom of the page.

NOTE: please DO NOT FILE a plan, simply SAVE it as a DRAFT.

NOTE: please DO NOT DELETE the DRAFT flight plans till the END of the campaign on 12 Apr 2020.

  • Since the destination airport is fake, the app will warn you that the plan you are saving could not be validated. Don't worry, press the 'Save As Is' button and proceed further.
  • The draft plan will be shown in the list on the All Flights Page.

NOTE: If you do the flight planning via the mobile app, please make sure to download all latest updates to be able to find the airports for the Easter Hunt.

  • Tap 'QUICK FILE (VFR)
  • Enter your home airport as your departure
  • Enter the Easter Hunt location as the destination, select the one with 5-symbol code
  • Tap SAVE
