FlightPlan 7.4.0 iOS Release

We are excited to announce the release of RocketRoute 7.4.0, which brings a host of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience and streamlining your flight planning process. Here's a summary of this latest update:

Flight Assistance Menu

The RocketRoute FlightPlan electronic flight bag has introduced an improved on-map menu for pilots, featuring the new Flight Assistance Menu. This enhancement aims to better organize the Tools and Route Elements, providing a more logical and user-friendly layout that allows pilots to easily manage the settings and features on their map screen.

Key benefits of the improved on-map menu with the Flight Assistance Menu include:

  • Streamlined Organization: The Flight Assistance Menu groups Tools and Route Elements in a more logical and intuitive manner, making it easier for pilots to find and access specific settings and features.
  • Enhanced Usability: By simplifying the menu structure, pilots can quickly enable or disable various features, reducing time spent navigating through the menu and allowing them to focus on essential flight planning tasks.
  • Customizable Settings: The Flight Assistance Menu allows pilots to adjust settings for features with variable options, providing greater flexibility and control over their map screen experience.
  • Improved Accessibility: With the improved on-map menu, pilots can efficiently manage their map settings and features, ensuring that all necessary information is readily available and tailored to their preferences.
  • Seamless Integration: The Flight Assistance Menu is designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing RocketRoute FlightPlan electronic flight bag interface, maintaining a familiar and consistent user experience.

Fuel Guidance

The Fuel Guidance feature in RocketRoute FlightPlan electronic flight bag offers significant value to pilots by enhancing the safety and efficiency of their flights. By providing a graphical representation of the fuel required per leg on the route, pilots can easily monitor their planned fuel consumption on the device and compare it with the actual fuel data from their aircraft instrumentation. This enables them to make informed decisions regarding fuel management and the overall safety of their flight.

Key benefits of the Fuel Guidance feature include:

  • Easy access and toggle: The Fuel Guidance feature can be easily accessed and toggled on or off within the Flight Assistance Menu, allowing pilots to customize their flight planning experience according to their preferences.
  • Clear visual representation: With the Fuel Guidance enabled, the planned fuel consumption is displayed on the map, presented in the user's preferred units set in the tail data. This clear visual representation allows pilots to quickly assess their fuel situation during the flight.
  • Dynamic updates: The Fuel Guidance feature automatically updates when the route is replanned, ensuring that pilots always have the most accurate and up-to-date planned leg fuel information.
  • Direct-to functionality: When a direct-to route is enabled, the Fuel Guidance feature adjusts accordingly, recalculating the leg fuel required for the new route and suppressing the legs that are no longer relevant. This ensures that pilots have the most accurate fuel information for their current flight path.
  • Compatibility with unplanned routes: Even when no route is planned, the Fuel Guidance feature can still provide valuable fuel information for direct-to legs, ensuring that pilots have access to crucial fuel data at all times.

Route Opacity

The addition of the Route Opacity feature in the RocketRoute FlightPlan electronic flight bag offers pilots greater flexibility and customization when viewing their route on the map screen. This feature, found in the Flight Assistance Menu, allows pilots to adjust the opacity of the route line to their preferred level, improving visibility and overall user experience.

Key benefits of the Route Opacity feature include:

  • Personalization: Pilots can tailor the route display's opacity to their preferences, choosing from specific values such as 30%, 60%, or 100%. This customization ensures optimal visibility and comfort for each user.
  • Consistency: Once the opacity is adjusted, the selected value is maintained even when navigating away from the Route Opacity settings, switching between different map views, or closing and reopening the application. This consistency saves time and effort for pilots, allowing them to focus on other essential tasks.
  • Smooth transitions: As pilots change the opacity values, the route display on the map smoothly transitions between transparency levels. This fluid adjustment enhances the visual experience and minimizes distractions.
  • Enhanced visibility: By offering maximum opacity (100%), the route display becomes completely opaque (solid), ensuring that pilots can easily view their route on the map.
  • Adaptability: The Route Opacity feature allows pilots to adjust the route display according to various factors, such as lighting conditions, map backgrounds, or personal preferences. This adaptability ensures that the route remains visible and easy to interpret in all situations.
