Export to Garmin GTN Devices

RocketRoute FlightPlan has a brand new feature which further streamlines the flight planning process. You can now export a flight plan to the popular Garmin GTN series of navigation devices.

We have adjusted the RocketRoute SMS message to be compatible with the Garmin app. In other words, you can plan and file with RocketRoute as usual, and paste the route directly into Garmin.

How it works:-

Step 1.  Simply select a flight and then select the export function, from the main menu.

Step 2.  Various selections will then be offered and you choose the 'Garmin GFP' format.

Step 3.  Next you select the SD card and the flight plan is exported to it.

Step 4. Extract the SD card from the PC and insert it into the Garmin navigator.

Step 5. After the Garmin has booted, select the route from the flight plan menu. Choose 'Flight Plan' then 'Menu', 'Catalog', 'Menu' (again, this time from within Catalog) and, lastly, 'Import'.

Step 6. The route will show on the chart so all that remains to activate the flight plan is to tap 'Activate' on the Garmin screen.

Step 1. Plan and file with RocketRoute so you receive an acknowledgement message and SMS text in your mobile phone.

Step 2. Copy the route stream from the message and paste it into the Garmin Navigator app.

Step 3. From the Menu click 'Connect' followed by 'Wireless Transfer'.

Step 4. Select the flight plan you want to transfer and see the green tick.
