1. Save a route in ‘Step 1. Prepare Route’
2. Click the Export button
3. Choose ‘Garmin FPL’
4. Save the resulting ‘fpl’ file to your computer
The ‘fpl’ file can then be loaded to your Garmin device using the Terrain Data Card.
Note: Not to be confused with the Nav Data card.
To do this will require the FlightPlan Migrator with USB Drivers software. You can download the software and instructions here for free.
Alternatively, if you do not have the USB adapter, you can use the Garmin Flight Plan Migrator Kit.
This is a tool that allows users to create and import multiple waypoints and flight plans from their PC onto a GNS 400W to 500W series unit. This tool is compatible with our RocketRoute software.
If you do not have this kit it can be purchased from here.
Once the ‘fpl’ file has been transferred to the Terrain Data Card, the card can be slotted into your Garmin device, ready for use.
Compatible devices include: GNC 420W, GNS 430W, GNS 530W, GPS 400W, GPS 500W
