Eurocontrol News: Changes In The ATFM Slot Messages

Eurocontrol News

Target Time Information in the ATFM Slot messages and support to iStream exercises.

We would like to inform our customers about the changes to ATFM slot allocations and revision messages.

From 05 April 2016, Network Manager (NM) will begin publishing target time information together with Calculated take Off Times (CTOT) in the Slot Allocation and Revision Messages (SAM and SRM).

The purpose of this initiative is to provide a flight crew with operational awareness of their flight's planned time at the congestion point in the air rather than solely providing the corresponding delayed time to effect ATFM measures.

In time, procedures will be validated and then introduced that use this target time awareness to optimize ATFM delivery.

Initially, Target Time information will be used in pre-arranged fight trial procedures only and by participating airlines: Air France, Hop!, Lufthansa and Swiss International.

It's important: No action shall be taken by Flight Сrew, unless you're participating in pre-arranged flight trials.
