Everybody knows the data in aircraft POHs reflect the engine data when the aircraft and engines are brand new. After some time the engine degrades and a percentage adjustment has to be made, based on an Operator comparing calculated Flight Log burns, and actual burn figures recorded by the crew in flight. Thus users need to be able to amend the fuel consumption rate of their aircraft engines.
Bearing in mind our users fly actively and often continuously, RocketRoute has developed and implemented a simple, universal way to make these changes - introducing the BIAS feature. This enables our customers to make further adjustments, as the efficiency of the aircraft engines changes (degrades) over time.
To set the new fuel flow and speed values, follow these steps:
In the opened window, a user can check all the fuel flow values for different stages of flight, flight levels, aircraft masses, and temperatures. For each power profile, there is usually more than one option - Normal, Max Speed, and Long Range. Please, make sure to apply bias to all of the power settings profiles.
Click 'Manage List' to open the window where the bias would be applied.
In the 'Manage List' window, there are 2 BIAS columns - for speed (TAS) and fuel flow (FF).
Put a 'minus' or 'plus' sign where applicable and the percentage of a degrade. In our example on the screenshot below, we have -3% on speed and +10% on fuel flow for all Cruise performance profiles.
Click 'Close' to close the 'Manage List' window and click 'Save' to save the changes in the aircraft profile.
To apply bias values to the other stages of flight, click the drop-down menu under 'Stage of Flight' and select the necessary stage (Climb, Cruise, Descent, ETOPS, SE Cruise, Holding).
