Hawker Beechcraft Baron 58
History: Hawker Beechcraft Baron
More than 6,000 Beechcraft Barons have been delivered since its first flight on February 19, 1960, and began deliveries the following year. The current Baron G58 has been modified with the G1000 avionics the latest addition in 2005. In 2010 the aircraft was given London City landing approvals.
Specifications
Sitting in the back of this classic is as comfortable as in any VLG and for the owner-pilot, there is the understanding that the new generation Baron G58 flies farther and faster than any other twin-piston aircraft.
The aircraft has been described as “the ultimate piston-powered aircraft with its 200kt (370 kmh) cruise speed and a range exceeding 1,500nm”.
It now features the Garmin G1000 avionics and has a passenger cabin with four facing club seats and a double door which gives easy access to the cabin. With a choice of leather seats and fashionable fabrics, it becomes clear why the Baron has outlasted competitor twins for more than 50 years.
