Gulfstream G550
More than 10 years have passed since the Gulfstream G550 was certified but this iconic aircraft is still popular.
The luxury cabin can accommodate up to 19 passengers, fly at a maximum speed of 506 ktas, and cruise at a maximum altitude of 51.000 ft.
The aircraft has great international reach thanks to the power from the pair of enhanced Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines. It has a range of 6.750 nm (12.501 km) at Mach 0.80 and a high-speed cruise capability of Mach 0.87.
The G550 was the first to offer Gulfstream PlaneConnect, an advanced system that automatically transmits reports on the aircraft’s condition to maintenance experts on the ground, enabling the speedy resolution of any maintenance issues that may arise.
Interior
With a 100 percent fresh air system, a maximum cabin altitude of 6,000 ft, and 14 signature oval windows that allow for ample natural lighting, the G550 cabin maximizes passenger comfort while decreasing the effects of travel fatigue and jet lag.
With upgrades like upgraded avionics, greater fuel efficiency, and improved airfield performance and range, the G550 boasts a spacious cabin, allowing up to fourteen passengers to work productively or to stretch out and relax.
PlaneView Cockpit
The Gulfstream G550 cockpit helped launch a safer, more sophisticated avionics platform that, years later, has become standard equipment for most business aircraft. Working with avionics partner Honeywell, Gulfstream 2003 introduced the PlaneView cockpit, making it the most technologically advanced business jet flight system in existence. Since then, the flight deck has continued to evolve and improve, and by design, easily accepts software upgrades. PlaneView uses four liquid crystal displays to present essential flight data in larger, crisper images that make ever-changing flight conditions easier to analyze.
