Dornier 328-100
History
The Dornier 328 is a modern regional turboprop airliner with 30 seats. The aircraft got its certification in October 1993. Initially, it was produced by Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH. In 1996 Fairchild Aircraft acquired the Dornier Luftfahrt and formed a new company named Fairchild Dornier GmbH.
Apart from the original 328-100 there were also built 328-110 with increased MTOW and extended range, the Do 328-120 with special features for short distance flights and the Do 328-130 with improved rudder and increased speed.
Since the first delivery in 1993, 107 Do328 were sold.
Specifications
The 329 design has a new fuselage section for three abreast seating. Clean aerodynamics give the 328 good high-speed cruise and climb performance. Composite materials are used in several areas to reduce weight. The flight deck features a five-screen Honeywell Primus 2000 EFIS avionis system.
The 328 has two 1625kW takeoff-rated Pratt&Whitney Canada PW119B turboprops driving six-blade Hartzell propellers. The maximum cruising speed is 620 km/h at an altitude of 25,000 ft or optionally 31,000 ft. Wing span is 20.98m, length 21.22m, height 7.24m.
