Cessna Citation M2
Overview of the Citation M2 Aircraft
The newly designed light jet features Garmin G3000 avionics, engines similar to those found in the Citation CJ series, and an all-new cabin design. It is powered by a pair of FADEC-controlled Williams International FJ44-1AP-21 turbofan engines, each producing 1,965 pounds of thrust. The Cessna Citation M2 normally cruises at a speed of 400 knots, equivalent to 460 MPH. A maximum range of 1.300 nautical miles makes this aircraft most appropriate for medium-length domestic flights.
Exterior
The aircraft has an aluminum airframe with a straight wing that includes LED lights. The design of M2’s fuselage features a constant circular cross-section attached to the wing without any cutouts for wing attachment. The wing leading edges are anti-iced using engine bleed air. There are two Williams FJ44 turbofan engines on each side of the M2’s rear fuselage. The FJ44-1AP-21 produces 10-15 percent more altitude thrust (depending on conditions) and consumes less fuel at long-range cruises than the previous version, enabling the M2 to climb quickly and cruise fast and far.
Interior Configuration
The M2’s first-class interior is created with the latest advancements in ergonomic sciences.
The Citation M2’s cabin is 57 inches in height, 58 inches in width, and 15 feet 9 inches in length including the cockpit. This design maximizes headroom for every traveler.
The M2 cabin features the best first-class interior furnishing for elegance and comfort. There are six special colors available for interior furnishing: Carbon, Pearl, Raffia, Mink, Frost, and Citrus. Each interior design selection has an additional blend of elegant fabrics, tailored carpets, and leathers.
Avionics
The clean cockpit design is anchored by the fully integrated Garmin G3000 avionics which has everything a pilot needs for safe and efficient aircraft operation. The G3000 system centers on three 14.1-inch LCD primary and multifunction displays and two infrared, touch-screen control panels. The touch-screen controllers react to changes in an infrared grid rather than traditional surface resistance sensors for better response under a variety of conditions. The M2’s G3000 avionics system can record specific maintenance diagnostic information, this key data can be reviewed on the MFD while the aircraft is grounded and downloaded for review even when you’re away from the aircraft, this capability integrates directly with the Cessna Service and Support network via the Cessna Aircraft Recording System (AReS).
